Injune has a population of about 500 people. The main industries in the town are timber (cypress pine), beef production and more recently the extraction of coal bed methane gas which is piped all over southern Queensland.

Injune has a magnificent tourist information centre, which is made from our local cypress pine. The building is a source of great pride to our local community. Injune is the closest town to Mt Moffat National Park and is only and hour and a half from the famous Carnarvon National Park. Mt Moffat is a “drive-around” park and requires a high clearance or four wheel drive vehicle.

Injune is also just down the road from the beautiful Lake Nugga Nugga 128 kilometres to the north. Lake Nugga Nugga has abundant bird life and makes a great day trip. Discover the natural beauty, and make Injune the base for your Carnarvon experience.
